Jatta and Annu came to visit work today to finish the activity they started last time. We folded boxes out of paper that were then filled up with nice things about each person written by the others. As I’d suspected a few boys had great difficulty with following the directions and were unable to fold straight lines. A couple used scissors at a five year olds level by Finnish standards. Turo, Jatta’s husband, taught the boys the official rules of football which they loved. Wolfgang and I have been meaning to have a conversation about progress for almost two weeks now, but seems he’s very hard to catch when I’m not in class. Will have to stay longer next week to get it over with.
Soda’s at the coffee shop after work and the movies at night. The watering hole is an outdoor movie theater at the end of a long deserted alley; surely one of a kind in décor. It doesn’t seem like a real place rather like something out of a fairytale. Saw the movie 127 hours. What a story of resilience and strength… A must see!
